Improved route for the South West Coast Path at Strete

Some good news reaches me today. The route of the South West Coast path south of Strete has been changed for the better. The route used to run along the busy A379 (which is the route I used), which lacks a pavement. Today a new route has opened right along the cliff tops, providing a much better route, free of traffic and closer to the coast.

You can read the press release here. There is also an article in the Western Morning news. Good work by all involved.

Perhaps I shall go back and walk this new section of the path!

  1. This is good news. I remember the frustration of walking along the road, knowing there was a possible route closer to the sea.
